The Association of Engineers for Water Management, Waste Management and Land Improvement (BWK)
... is one of Germany's leading networks for technicians, engineers and scientists in all disciplines of environmental engineering. Founded in 1904, it is the professional association for more than 3,500 personnel and over 400 supporting members coming from public administration, universities, research institutes, along with engineering and consulting companies. The BWK is a network for students, for young as well as experienced professionals and retired members. The network is organised in 11 regional associations and more than 50 district groups.
The association

... consists of hydrologists, geologists, physicists, chemists, biologists, environmental engineers, civil engineers, water economists, hydraulic engineers, geographers and geo-ecologists. The BWK offers its members a wide range of networking and further education possibilities. The regional associations and the district groups organize conferences, workshops, lectures and excursions. The federal association manages the association's guideline work, cooperates with other technical-scientific associations with similar objectives and represents the interests of the BWK members in politics and society.
